Alice Jean Winchester

Alice Jean Annette Winchester (AJ), 77, of Fenton Michigan died in her home on August 15, 2017. She was born in Highland Township, the daughter of Stephan and Betty Winchester. She leaves behind three children, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Daughter Kimberly Jean Bowman of Spokane WA., Son Bradley Rolfe Bowman of Palm Coast Fl., and Son Todd Hugh Lane of Fenton Mi. Grandchildren: Jordan Haddeland, Ashley Goetsch, Lindsay Bowman, Harrison Lane, Hunter Lane, Heston Lane. Great Grandchildren: Anniston Goetsch and Aria Goetsch. She also leaves behind a Brother Albert Winchester of Holly Mi., a Sister Karen Fraley of Davisburg Mi., and a Sister Gail Berutti of White Lake Mi., several nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Larry Winchester and Steve Winchester. Ms. Alice Winchester was employed by the Livingston County Court system as a foster care home supervisor for many years where she took care of as many as 32 children at one time. In 1986 Alice was president to the Flint Mi. Chapter of the National organization of Women, (N.O.W.) where she was a definite proponent of equal rights. Earlier in life, AJ was an airline stewardess and a Playboy bunny for the Detroit Playboy Club. She studied Art in Paris, has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Education from Wayne State University. For many years AJ spent countless hours substitute teaching in the surrounding school districts. AJ loved art of all kinds and surrounded herself by it. Everything was a canvas to AJ and she enjoyed finding the beauty in the world around her. She lived a humble life in her home hidden by majestic oaks in Fenton Mi. She loved the companionship of her dogs and ducks and she had a love for nature. Where ever she went she made friendships that lasted a lifetime. She is loved by many and will be missed by us all. Rest in Peace Mom, I will forever miss you. Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Dryer Funeral Home, Inc. Holly Mi.
