Diane Duffie

Diane Kay Duffie, aged 84, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 30, 1941, Diane was the beloved daughter of long-time Holly residents V.K. and Bernice Anderson. A proud graduate of Holly High School’s Class of 1959, Diane cherished her involvement with the "59ers Club." She is survived by her brother, Darryl (Devon Miller) Anderson, and her four loving daughters: Tammy Summers, Pamela Mordue, Shannon Blake, and JeriAnne Kruzmanowski. Her legacy also lives on through her seven grandchildren – Adam, Alexander, Aaron, Tiffany, Kyle, Tyler, and Jacob – and her four great-grandchildren – Amelia, Sean, Anna, and Alesondra – as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Diane was an exceptionally avid writer, known for her ability to craft engaging short stories based on her everyday life experiences. These included heartwarming tales like her elderly father's annual swim and humorous anecdotes such as her twin girls mixing each other up. Her passion for writing led her to participate in numerous writing clubs and enroll in various writing classes throughout her life. She was also a dedicated member and leader of a book club at the Loosey Center in Linden, MI. Beyond her literary pursuits, Diane found joy in playing cards, excelling in Bridge, Euchre, and Pinochle. She was a long-time resident of Holly, particularly enjoying her home in Riviera Shores on Bush Lake. Diane’s love for animals was well-known; she always had pets in her home. As she grew older and lived alone, she often expressed that she could no longer have a dog, explaining, "I outlive them and cannot handle saying goodbye." Her professional journey was as diverse as her interests. Diane worked at Hamady Bros in Holly before pursuing higher education at the University of Michigan, where she earned her accounting degree. She then applied her skills at Michigan Trail-ways in Clio, MI, working in their fiscal services department until the company closed. Subsequently, Diane joined Huron Valley Hospital, as an Accountant where she built many lasting friendships and gathered countless stories to share for years until her retirement. Diane also had a passion for shopping and amassed a charming collection of stuffed snowmen. Every year, her grandchildren eagerly helped her find places to display over 260 snowmen throughout her home during the winter and holiday season. She will be deeply missed by her neighbors and friends, who frequently joined her for pontoon boat rides, fishing excursions, and swimming in the lake. Diane never missed a holiday or birthday, always hosting lively gatherings at her home, complete with volleyball games, fireworks displays, and an abundance of homemade potato salad prepared in various ways to suit every taste, alongside all the homemade chocolate chip cookies one could desire. Diane ensured every gathering included a round of cards, stories sharing birth dates, and her latest comedic observations from daily life. A beautiful "celebration of love" was held with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Mother's Day 2025, at a home on Riviera Shores on Bush Lake in Holly. This precious gathering allowed them to visit her during her battle with cancer and bring her favorite foods. A further celebration of life may be planned again on Bush Lake with her immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adopt a Pet Fenton MI.
