Elaine Addis

Elaine Dorothy Addis of Holly, MI passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026 at the age of 92. Elaine was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born on June 6, 1934 in Ann Arbor to Dorothy and Walter Leuneberg, Elaine was the eldest sister to four brothers, whom she remained close with throughout her life. Elaine attended Dexter and Fenton schools. She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate degree and graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in education. Elaine dedicated her career to changing the lives of her students in Holly Public Schools. Throughout her life, Elaine traveled to many places around the world and had countless adventures with her close friends and family. She stayed active in her friendships and community throughout her life – especially her Red Hat Ladies and water exercise group. She treasured her time hosting parties at the family lake in Holly, where she enjoyed watching fireworks, playing games of croquet, and watching the sunset. Elaine was the heart of cherished family traditions, known for her spinach pie and cinnamon nut stars at Christmas. She brought the family together to make lasting memories, which her loved ones will treasure for years to come. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, and they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. She was the proud mother of Keith (Barbie) Addis, Julie (Terry) Kindt, Brad (Barb) Addis, Becky (Kevin) Donohue. Elaine was a loving grandmother to AJ (Jennifer) Leuneberg, Andy (Kerry) Addis, Brett (Kim) Addis, Eric Jenkins, Ryan (Sarah) Addis, Emily (John) Partlow, Morgan (Justin) Giola, Brandon (Sydney) Addis and great-grandmother to nine amazing great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Elaine’s life on July 2, 2026 at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 10:00, with a funeral service at 11:00. A graveside ceremony will be held at Lakeside Cemetery immediately afterwards, with a luncheon to follow at River Rock Bar & Grill.
