Gary D. Musgrave

Gary Dale Musgrave, Age 62, of Holly. Passed away Wed. July 18, 2018. Memorial Service will be celebrated at 3:00 PM on Sun. July 22, 2018 at Dryer Funeral Home, Holly, with Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Holly immediately following service. Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 PM with family hour from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Gary was a wonderful, sweet, kind, and caring person, and was loved by all that knew him. He brought joy and laughter to everyone he met and was never a stranger to anyone. Gary worked for 30 years at Consumers Energy, rising up through the ranks of a meter reader, lineman, Supervisor, and on to a Field Trainer. He loved his Detroit sports teams the Tigers, Lions, and U of M Wolverines. He played numerous years of fast pitch softball traveling all over the U.S. winning championship tournaments. He also loved to golf, and bowl and came close to hitting a 300 game several times. In addition to his family, Gary’s truest passion in life was playing and singing his beloved music, which he was so talented at. Gary started singing at the age of 4 and was affectionately known as “Little Gary Musgrave - the Singing Sensation”. He was a self-taught guitarist, and blessed us all, with his beautiful voice. At one point in time, Country music legend George “The Possum” Jones wanted to take Gary on tour with him. Few people knew that Gary made two mission trips to Africa, to assist with the building of two churches for the locals. He loved donating his time to projects that helped others. That is how much he cared for people. Gary was born in Dexter, Missouri on January 24, 1956, to Dale Laverne and Virginia Louise (Warren) Musgrave still living. Surviving Gary are his loving wife Debby, 3 sons Andy (Emily) Musgrave of Holly, Nathan Musgrave of Highland, Daniel Musgrave of Highland, step-son Brandon Gadberry of Pontiac, 2 grandsons Bryce and Bradley Musgrave of Holly. 1 sister Kimberly (Jeff) Cockfield of Traverse City, MI, 2 nephews Korey Kuppe and Konnor Kuppe of Clinton Twp, many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. We will all miss you, our loving, sweet “Music Man”!
