Jack Felch

Jack L. Felch of Holly, MI departed on October 9, 2017, surrounded by his beloved family, to be with Jesus. Jack was born March 12, 1937 in Holly, MI to Charles and Ruth Felch LaMew. He is survived by his wife Hannelore (Lore) Zepp Felch, whom he married on November 12, 1960, sons Curtis Felch (Pam) and Harold Felch (Debbie), granddaughters Courtney and Nikita and grandsons Adam and Jack R. Felch, brother-in-law Heinz Zepp (Jeri), nieces Heidi Buffa, Henny Hetherton, Celine Ryan, Nancy Felch, Teresa Graffeo, Patricia Fuller, Marilyn Graves, Kristie Graham, nephews Jim Felch, Neal Felch, Richard Felch, Gene White, Charles Samuel, Jamie Gerow, lifetime friend Wayne Freeman and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Perry and Jerald Felch, sister Bonnie Hubby, niece Linda White, nephews Erich Zepp, Dennis Felch, Jay Felch and all his aunts and uncles. Jack loved spending time with his family most of all. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Holly, loved travel, photography, target shooting and boating. He was a 41 year employee of General Motors where he was a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor. He retired in 1998. He fondly remembered the truck test trips across the country. He loved travelling with John Lyons Landmark Tours, twice to the Canadian Rockies , Hawaii, the Oregon and Californian coastline, Seattle, the Maritime Provinces, New York, the balloon festival to Alburquerque, several trips to Europe to visit Lore’s family and best friend, Monika Rainer. The most memorable and heartwarming trip was a present from his children for the 50th anniversary to Salzburg and Vienna, Austria in July 2010. Jack, his wife, children and grandchildren, were all able to view Salzburg together from the top of the Untersberg Mountain in Salzburg at the foot of the huge cross. The picture of Salzburg and the mountain can be viewed on the gravestone to allow the family to reminisce about the wonderful times. Jack was a great example of what a husband and father should be and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the therapists and nurses and aids at Wellbridge of Fenton and Nurses Cynthia, Erin, Rachael and Adria of Kindred Hospice for their loving support and care. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly, MI,and 1 hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11 AM at Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly, 15010 N. Holly Rd., Holly, MI with Pastor Cliff Schroeder presiding. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery, Holly MI. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly or Kindred Hospice of Flint.
