Kenneth Leon Pearson Kenneth “Kenny” Leon Pearson, age 72, of Holly, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026. Kenny was born on February 26, 1954, in Rockford, Illinois, to Albert and Mary Pearson. Kenny was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sarah Huggard; his mother, Mary Barlow-Pearson; and his brother, Ronald Pearson. He was a loving brother survived by Claudia Mangham and Beverly Finley (Keith); a devoted husband to Suzanne Pearson; and a proud father to Anthony (Dolores), Matthew (Ashley), Brandie, and Ebonnie Binion (Royal). He was also a beloved uncle to Artie, Felicia, Darissa, and Ronald II, and a proud Pépé to Harper, Kenbrew, Kingsley, Hazel, Princeton, Arie, and Kannon. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and Pépé. Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to serving the State of Michigan, where he worked until his retirement. Even after retiring, Kenny remained a hardworking man. For the past 15 years, he continued to work part-time at Sherwin-Williams Auto Paint. He graduated from Holly High School and earned an associate degree in General Studies from Oakland Community College. Kenny was known by many as “KP” and “Coach.” He loved coaching youth basketball, traveling with his wife, working with his tools, and taking care of home repairs. He routinely worked out at 5 a.m. and enjoyed organizing Sunday night pickup basketball games at the church. He was known there for his infamous backward jog after making a basket. Through those games and his love of basketball, Kenny created a strong sense of community and brought people together. He was also a loyal Los Angeles Lakers and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most of all, Kenny was a homebody who loved being surrounded by his family. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished the time they spent together. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.
