Marilyn Fay (Young) Edwins; age 84; of Waterford; passed away June 9, 2026. Preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Arthur E. Edwins; dear mother of Cindy (John) Victor & Vicki (Jim) Nellis; devoted grandmother “Meme” of Ashleigh (Chris) Glinski, John Victor, Holly Nellis, and great granddaughter Elloise Glinski; survived by brother Stan (Virginia) Young; sister-in-law Teresa Young; sister-in-law Katherine (John) Young; brother-in-law Don (Cindy) August; numerous loving nieces & nephews; and special friends Shari & Bill Hickok. Also preceded in death by mother Alice Young; in-laws Edwin & Lucille Kukuk; sister & brother-in-law Nancy (Gene) Brandt; brother Dave Young; nephew Steve Brandt; and brothers-in-law Bob & Norm Kukuk. Marilyn was a proud graduate of Holly High School, Class of 1960, and cherished the lifelong friendships she maintained with many of her childhood friends. She retired from the Accounting Department at General Motors in 1996 after 28 years of dedicated service. Marilyn enjoyed bowling, playing cards, entertaining family and friends at her home on Lake Oakland, traveling, visiting casinos, and, in recent years, playing bingo. She was known for her generosity, attention to detail, bluntness, and her spunkiness. Above all, she found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She delighted in spoiling them, even when they mischievously turned on her heated car seats in the middle of summer without her knowing. Since 2019, Marilyn made her home at Canterbury on the Lake, where she was cared for with kindness and compassion. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated Memory Care staff, especially Jennifer, Christell, T, and Gisele, as well as the nurses of Trinity Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Family will greet visitors on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 2PM until 8PM at Dryer Funeral Home, 101 First St., Holly, MI 48442. Another visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Dryer Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Health Michigan Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
