William Charles Domako

Domako, William Sr. “Bill” “Grandpa” of Fenton, age 88, passed away suddenly in his home built with his own bare hands on Taylor Lake in Fenton, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Bill was born March 8, 1935 in Detroit, MI, the son of Frank and Mary Domako. A viewing will be held in his honor for anyone who would like to join on Saturday, January 13th at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly from 1-6 PM followed by dinner and dancing. A service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton, on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 11 AM with Father David Harvey celebrant. He was known by many names, but he was everyone’s Grandpa, gramps, pops or Dad. Bill retired from CSX Railroad after 42 years of dedicated service. He spent his whole life raising a family and creating a legacy. At 21 years young he received a scholarship offer to Michigan State University and had the chance to play professional football. He turned that opportunity down to marry is wife of 61 years before she passed away and was always the love of his life even after. Everything he did he poured his heart into it. He excelled in school with his grades, was an all-state selection for high school football, played semi-professional football, received many awards; high honors fine arts award, Carnival awarded him with best dancer on cruise ship trophy. Holly women’s softball presented him coach of the year award from Slocum’s B Div. Champs, President for the Greater Detroit Bowling Association for the St. John Cantius Parish League. He received an appreciation award, was an honorable member of the Moose Lodge, past governor and was nominated to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Holly Moose Lodge this year. He was so full of life and always the life of the party. His favorite thing he enjoyed most was his family gathering at his home with kids running wild, hosting every family reunion, campout, graduation, wedding, birthday, and every holiday he could. What brought him some of his greatest joy was taking care of everyone else. His family will miss his dance moves and unconditional love the most. He was also most proud of his family and he never missed an opportunity to show them, squeeze them tight with his big bear hugs, kiss them and say in your ear I Love You! William is survived by; sisters Dolores (Robert) Hudec and Christine Hamilton; children Kevin (Emily) Briggs, Kathleen Davis, Theresa Shepherd, Cecilia (Jim) Eldredge, Sandra Sisk, Sherry (Dennis) Warner, Michelle (Patrick) Harp, Diana Mann, William (Chrissy) Domako Jr.; 49 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Domako; parents Frank and Mary Domako; brother Frank Domako Jr.; children Konrad Briggs, Dolores Domako; grandchildren baby Jesse, Kayla Domako; son-in-laws Rick Sisk, Keith Shepherd, Tommy Mann.
