Dennis Earl Wright

March 22, 1945 - December 4, 2021

Dennis E. Wright of Clarkston, passed away with family surrounding him on December 4th, 2021, at the age of 76. He was born in Detroit MI on March 22, 1945. Dennis is survived by his daughter; D’Ann (Don) Kreilach; Grandchildren Emiley, Eric and Ben; Siblings Connie (John) Kelley, Janet Thompson (Dean), Tom (Cerese) Wright, Many Nieces & Nephews especially, Paula (Mike) Zalobsky, Laura (Joe) Kay, and Mark Kelley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Tomley Gale (Hubbard) Wright in 2009 and his parents Edward & Clarice Wright. Dennis worked as a Carpenter for 40 years. He always said he was “lucky to have a job he loved”. He worked most of his career doing residential carpentry. In the mid 80’s he decided to get a builder’s license, but he continued to work full time at his day job plus build 10 spec houses in a 10-year period. He eventually finished out his career doing commercial work, retiring at age 62. He built some very creative and beautiful wood projects in his lifetime. Retirement was a different life for him. Every day he would get dressed and was ready to go by 7am. He would say he was enjoying doing what he wanted each day. He looked forward to going out to breakfast a couple times per week with family and friends. He loved driving his classic cars (fast) and going to car/antique shows. The nice weather days were filled with loud cars running off & on. We all enjoyed our classic car joy rides! He also had a workshop where he made many cabinets, shelves, bookcases, desks, and other things out of wood through the years. He enjoyed playing cards with friends on Saturdays, reading, listening to music, and talking about all the things he had collected during his lifetime. Dennis enjoyed volunteering his time at Blessing in a backpack event’s and supporting The Boy Scouts. Dennis made us laugh with a good one liner at precisely the right moment. He was a humble man that lived life on his terms. He was a man of his word. Dennis will live on in all of us as we recall the laughter and memories that we shared together. Rest in Peace Dennis Wright. We will Love you forever XO. Visitation will be held at Dryer Funeral home in Holly on Saturday March 26, 2022; 11am-1pm, Memorial Service at 1pm.
