Gerald (Bud) Cox of Holly entered eternal life on September 26, 2021, surrounded by the love of his life Patricia and his family at home. Bud is survived by his wife of 66 years Patricia, his daughter Ruthanne (Bill) Andrews, his grandchildren, Amber (Tim) Rowen, Andy (Dolly) Hellow, Ash (Brandon) Darling, Gerry Andrews, Billy Andrews and Alyssa (Trever) Emery. Bud has 4 great-grandchildren, his brother Richard (Phylis) Cox and many nieces and nephews, and a community that loved and adored him. Bud was born 9-27-30 in Lake City, Michigan to Ralph and Hazel Cox. His brothers Richard and Orley and his sister Audrey grew up very close. Bud learned a love of hunting and fishing from his family and every year throughout his entire life Bud would go up north and spend a week with his family and hunt on his brother’s property. It was a week he treasured and looked forward to very much, spending time with his brothers and sister and their families. Bud went to Spring Arbor College where he met Patricia and they married 8-20-55. They have a daughter Ruthanne. Bud was a dedicated husband and father. His family were the greatest joy in his life. Bud and Pat lived in Redford and 33 years ago moved to Holly. They live on the same property as their daughter Ruthanne and her husband Bill. Bud was fortunate to be involved in their busy families lives. Bud and Pat have been a staple at every soccer, football and school event that his 6 grandchildren have been a part of. He was everyone's Grandpa. His family surrounded him with love and attention always but were all with him the last few days at home while he passed. There will forever be a hole in their heart. Being a kind and gentle man, Bud always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. Everyone who knew him loved him. Involved in their church and community, Bud attended Parkway Heights Church in Redford, the Davisburg United Methodist, and most recently Calvary United Methodist Church in Holly. He went to lunch at the Springfield Twp. Senior Dinners and loved playing cards for years. He was a part of the community band playing (gut bucket). Fishing was such an important part of his life, he would go fishing with anyone who was willing. He will be missed dearly. We love you more! Visitation will be at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly on Wednesday 9-29-2021 from 3-7pm and funeral services will be at Dryer Funeral Home on Thursday 9-30-2021 at 2pm. Burial will be at Davisburg Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to: Calvary United Methodist Church of Holly.
