John Robert Peoples
December 15, 1952 - April 17, 2021
John Robert Peoples, long time Holly, MI resident passed away peacefully in his family home on April 17, 2021 at the age of 68. John was born December 15, 1952 to Robert Joseph Peoples and Alberta May Peoples (Pape). His only sibling was his younger sister Roberta Bess Peoples who passed away in 1963. John has left behind a number of cousins and many dear friends and former coworkers who will greatly miss him. John was a well-educated, hard-working heavy equipment operator for 39 years at Newman Brothers Excavating in Holly. John led a simple life as he desired and loved to travel America which he did so extensively in his life’s true passion, which was tennis. He preferred doubles and playing either the net or back line of which any position did not matter to John as long as he was on a court. He was a good server and had a mean top spin backhand that caused his opponents grief. His racket was his favorite tool. For all who knew John, one thing stands out. He was a man of conviction and readily voiced his opinion as he felt necessary. However, he never stifled dissenters or contrary opinion and knew when irritating events in his daily life were not worth a fight or losing sleep over. This was John’s mild demeanor that made him who he was as a gifted and loved man. Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 PM Thurs. April 29, 2021 at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Groveland Township with Pastor Patricia Harton officiating. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com
