A Life Well Lived They say that people won’t remember what you did or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel. My father, Norman J Raupp Jr., wore his heart on his sleeve. He loved everyone - family, friends, children, dogs, cats and especially loved babies. A beloved husband to Carolyn Raupp for 56 years. A loving father to Julia Jackson (Mike), Jennifer Sawchuk (Steve) and Jeff Raupp. An adoring grandfather to Alex Sawchuk, Ben Sawchuk, Nick Sawchuk, Matt Sawchuk and Lena Jackson. Norman was preceded in death by his parents Norman Raupp Sr. and Vera Raupp, and siblings Joyce Bracknell (Louis), Patricia Layman (Richard), Leonard Raupp (Laura) and Douglas Raupp (Joyce). He is survived by siblings Marilyn Rutkoski (Gene), Christine English (Chuck), Cathy Wallace, Larry Raupp (Vicky), Ron Raupp (Mari), Mary Garren (Malcolm), Michael Raupp and Charlotte Hawton. Norman proudly served his country in the Vietnam era as a soldier in the United States Army. A graduate of Oakland University, in Criminal Justice, Norman went on to work for many years for General Motors, as a Security Officer, where he retired after more than 20 years of service. He was an ardent supporter of the local law enforcement community and he volunteered as a Reserve Officer for the Waterford Township Police Department for 14 years. Besides spending time with his children, grandchildren and his pets, Norman loved to golf. In retirement he volunteered over 2,000 hours at Springfield Oaks golf course as a Ranger where he had many friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thurs. Jan. 13, 2022 at St Rita Catholic Church, Holly with Father David Blazek, Celebrant. Norman will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wed. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM at the Dryer Funeral Home Holly.
