Patricia Wheeler-Knight Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Patricia (Patti) Wheeler-Knight, age 88, of Weidman, MI and Bowling Green, FL passed away peacefully Saturday January 29, 2022 in Flushing, MI. Patti was born December 22, 1933 in Columbus, OH to the late Wilson and Lois Landman. After attending college in Dayton, OH Patti moved to the Flint area in the late 1950’s to pursue a career in the medical field. Her first job was in the morgue at Hurley Medical Center as a medical transcriptionist typing autopsy reports. She went on to work as a laboratory administrator, owned her own clinical laboratory for several years and ultimately served as the business manager of Flint Medical Laboratory from where she retired in 2001 after over 40 years of service. Patti also had an adventurous side and a strong interest in aviation. She started taking flying lessons at Dalton Airport in Flushing, MI where she met and married the love of her life Raymond Wheeler in 1961. He preceded her in death January 19, 1999. In addition to flying Patti had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, swimming, riding motorcycles and traveling – having travelled to all 50 states and over 15 countries. She was an avid reader, seamstress, and loved to knit and crochet. Patti was a determined, strong willed, loving, and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Patti is survived by her son Richard (Lesley) Wheeler, daughter in law Renae Wheeler, grandchildren: Nathan (Heather) Wheeler, Nicole (Gary) Irrer, Jon (Jodi) Wheeler, Tim (Danika) Wheeler, Aron Wheeler, Tricia Wheeler (Jerad Forster), Lauren (Cody) Smith and several great grandchildren. Sister Bette Landman of PA, brother Todd Landman of CA, Stepdaughter Shelley (Al) Brody, and numerous additional step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patti was preceded in death by sons Thomas Wheeler and Raymond Wheeler, stepsons Bobby and Randy Wheeler, stepdaughters Nancy Irwin and Linda Senk, and husband Donald Knight. Visitation will be held Saturday February 05, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm at Dryer Funeral Home 101 S 1st St Holly, MI 48442. Burial to follow at White Lake Cemetery.
