Rebecca Lee Cook

December 22, 1957 - February 6, 2022

Rebecca Lee (Guidry) Cook of Holly, (12/22/1957) passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Becky was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Earl and Leona Guidry. Becky grew up in Madison Heights as the middle of 5 children. She was a tomboy and loved sports and spending time outside and loved to scare her siblings with snakes and frogs. She was employed at Holly Area Schools for many years watching over students at recess and then was a para-educator at many of the schools. She watched over all of the kids and created many bonds with the children whom later in life would come up to give her hugs and chat when recognized in passing. She loved spending time with friends and playing softball for the Holly Moose Lodge and spending time on canoe trips up north with the team. Becky loved travel, snorkeling, fishing, golfing, card/board games, and spending time up-north. She loved spending time on the beaches and in the mountains, even though she was afraid of heights. She loved palm trees, humming birds, and dragonflies. Above all else she loved spending time with family. She loved her grandkids and thought the most important job of all was being a mother. On February 11th, 1977, Becky married her sweetheart, James Cook, in Belton, Texas while James served in the Army. After living on the army base in Texas they then moved to Holly to start their family. They enjoyed their near 45 years of marriage together making memories with their family. Becky is survived by her husband, James Cook; son; Beau (Leslie) Cook; grandchildren Tamera (Mason) & Collin Cook; great-grandson (Sawyer); Siblings; Cyndy (Rex) Bellaver, Julie (Rick) Sunde, Greg (Thalia) Guidry, Doug (Laurie) Guidry; and beloved nieces and nephews. In keeping with Becky’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A funeral/memorial ceremony will be held at Holly VFW on February 26th from 3-7 PM. Her ashes will later be places at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
