Richard E. Cooper, age 88, of Holly, died Thurs. March 31, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Mon. Apr. 11, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Fenton, with Pastor Peter Ahlersmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Park Cemetery, Clarkston. Visitation will be from 2-9 PM Sun. Apr.10 at the Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Mr. Cooper was born in Detroit on May 25, 1933 to Kelcie and Lola (Bookout) Cooper. He was a civil engineer and project manager for Parliament Construction and then Jenkins Construction. Among his notable projects were the Fox Theatre, Cass Tech High School, and Detroit Institute of Art reconstructions. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and being with family. Surviving are his wife Jane; sons Richard Cooper and John Cooper; step-children, Beth (Brad) Smith, Barbara Wiley, Tim Marth, Tom (Bobbie) Marth, Becky (Bob) Thomas, and Peter (Laura) Marth; 24 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Janie; and daughters Wendy Cooper and Michele Marth. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com
