Sherry Lyn Duffie
March 30, 1958 - August 7, 2019
Sherry Lyn Duffie passed away in the comfort of her home on August 7, 2019 due to complications from extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer. Sherry was born on March 30, 1958 to Marshall Orville Willoughby and Martha Jean Rapson Willoughby, growing up on Cass Lake with all of the joys of water skiing and friendship. Sherry graduated from West Bloomfield High School in 1976 and eventually made a name for herself as the head of Imperial Molded Products, demonstrating leadership and work ethic for many years. In 1986, she married the love of her life, Keith Duffie, and they developed their own business together, Pro-line Outdoors. Sherry and Keith successfully managed that business, based in Brighton, Michigan, where they eventually would call home. Later in her career, she would be awarded Office Administrator of the Year for RE/MAX of Michigan. Sherry was an ardent believer in working hard, playing hard, and always being the best friend, wife, and mother she could be, which she certainly achieved. Sherry Duffie was – and is – synonymous with joy, dedication, and passion for life. Sherry led an extraordinary life filled with celebration, travel, and friendship. As a businesswoman and employee, she honored her family’s legacy by being a steadfast leader and changemaker. More importantly, as a wife and mother, Sherry was immutably loving, protective, passionate, kind, and giving. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Marshall and Martha Willoughby as well as her brother Larry Willoughby. She leaves behind her husband Keith Duffie, her son Sean Duffie (Eric), her stepdaughter Tara Katona (John), her two grandchildren Carter and Grayson Katona, her stepson David Doan, and her stepdaughter Misty Warren (Arthur), in addition to her loving terrier, Stuart “Stewie” Little Duffie. Sherry’s incredible life will be recognized with a labor-day weekend celebration-of-life pool party. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made in her name to Arbor Hospice, which provided exceptional end-of-life care. Visit the Donation form on their website at arborhospice.org.
