Shirley Ann Pankowski

February 6, 1936 - January 29, 2022

Shirley Ann Pankowski, age 85, of Holly, MI died on January 29, 2022. Shirley was born in Wyandotte, MI on February 6, 1936 to her parents Bernard and Helen (Grygriel) Perkowski. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt and friend. Shirley is survived by her husband Melbourne "Mick" Pankowski Sr., children; Mel Pankowski Jr. and his wife Lenore Liddle of Townville, SC, Paul Pankowski and his wife Brenda Mandersheid Pankowski of LaMotte, IA, Marlena Pankowski of Holly, MI and Phillip Pankowski of Anchorage, AK, grandchildren; Audrie Pankowski Worley and Harris Worley of Atlanta, GA, Laura Pankowski and Joshua Myers of Atlanta, GA, Jon Pankowski and Katelyn Ries of LaMotte, IA, Ben Pankowski and Rachel Meyer Pankowski of Antioch, TN and Parker Pankowski and Jestine Rands of Denver, CO, great-grandchild Henry Pankowski of Antioch, TN, sister Christine Perkowski of Woodhaven, MI, niece Karen Laritz Budds and Denis Budds of S. Rockwood, MI, nephew Ken Laritz and Ellen Kolioupoulos Laritz of Clinton Township, MI, great nieces, nephews and their children; Mathew Budds, Bryan Budds, Jeff Laritz Rachael Laritz and Lauren Reck. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ben and Helen Perkowski, father and mother-in-law Al and Francis Pankowski, sister Mary Jane Laritz Osak, sister and brother-in-law Penny and Mike Scrafano and brother-in-laws; John Osak and Frank Laritz. Shirley loved to spend time Up North in Lewiston, MI. She liked to snow and water ski and was an avid Michigan Football fan. She also loved animals from her dogs, to her chickens, to her backyard animals of turkeys and deer. Shirley was an avid quilter and belonged to the Project Linus and to the Ye Olde Squares Quilt Guild and many local quilt clubs in Highland, Clarkston and Linden. Shirley was cared for by the wonderful hospice volunteers from Compassus of Grand Blanc. In Lieu of flowers, donation can be made to: Compassus, Attn: Volunteer Department, 5445 Ali Dr. Grand Blanc, MI 48439, or to any Humane Society of your choice. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00am at the 242 Community Church located at 7526 Grand River Ave, Brighton, MI 48114. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Highland House Restaurant located at 2630 E Highland Road, Highland, MI 48356 for family and friends.
