James A. Klein

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of James A. Klein(Dawg), a beloved husband, father, Oppa, and DA. He was a man whose life was defined by his devotion to family, his kindness, and the quiet strength he shared with those around him. He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Klein of Holly, Michigan, with whom he shared almost 49 years of marriage, building a lifetime of love, partnership, and family together. He was a proud and caring father to Jonathon Klein (Crystal) of Holly, Joshua Klein (Karissa) of Holly, and Julie Norman (Brad) of Lady Lake, Florida. He was an incredibly proud Oppa to his cherished grandchildren: Ashley, Olivia, Joshua, Zac, Justin, Ava, Ella, Harper, Gwen, Destiny and her daughter Hazel, who brought immense joy and laughter to his life. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he lovingly welcomed many adopted children into his life over the years—friends, neighbors, and loved ones who came to see him as a father figure and who were embraced as part of his family. He dedicated nearly 35 years working as a fork lift driver for General Motors, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter and gardener who loved spending time outdoors. Hunting was one of his greatest passions, bringing him peace, adventure, and many memorable moments shared with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Kathleen Klein, as well as his twin brother Johnny, his older brother Kevin, and his younger brother Douglas. He is survived by his 4 siblings, David, Kathy, Paul, and Donald, along with many nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to him. Whether spending time with loved ones, sharing stories, or simply being present for those who needed him, he created lasting memories that will forever be treasured. His warmth, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched with his generosity, humor, and unwavering support. A remembrance will be held to honor his life and the love he shared with those closest to him on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 11am with a service to follow at 1pm at Dryer Funeral Home of Holly.
