Patricia Harton

Patricia "Pat" Harton, affectionately known as Patty by her family, peacefully passed away at home on the morning of February 7, 2025, at the age of 80. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in heaven, a place she spoke of with great anticipation, longing to see the face of the Lord. Born on July 6, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, to Harold and Alice (Sexsmith) Vollink, Pat grew up in Holly, Michigan, and graduated in 1962. She remained closely connected to her classmates, cherishing their visits in her final days. On August 7, 1965, Pat married Bruce Manley Harton, a union truly blessed by heaven. Together, they raised two sons, Dan and Jeff, and celebrated nearly 60 years of steadfast love and respect. When anyone asked her for marriage advice, she would tell them that you have to choose to love each other, even when one is being not so loveable. Love is a conscious decision to support and cherish each other through the ups and downs. A devoted servant of God, Pat was deeply committed to the Global Methodist Church and was officially ordained in the summer of 2024. She served as Pastor at Mount Bethel Methodist Church in Holly, earning the affectionate title of Pastor Pat. Through her ministry, she touched many lives, mentoring both adults and children. She and Bruce were members of Revive Church in Hartland, Michigan, and Pat cherished the time spent with her Golden Girls friend circle from church. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-in-law Marilyn Harton, and her brother, James Vollink. She is survived by her loving husband Bruce, her sons Daniel (Liz) and Jeffrey (Penny), her brother David (Lola) Vollink, and numerous grandchildren, including Tyler (Kristin) Harton, Alexander, William, Ayden, Matthew, Garrett, and her bonus grandchildren Ryan, JD, Hailey, Christina, Lilly, and many more who brought joy to her life. Her grandchildren fondly remember her for her card game "cheating" and the joy she took in hearing about their lives. Visitation will be held at Dryer Funeral Home on February 13, 2025, from 2-5 PM and 6-9 PM. A funeral service will take place at Holly Calvary Church on February 14, 2025, at 11:30 AM, followed by burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery and a reception.
