Robert Elden Spencer

Robert Elden Spencer, age 79, of Holly, passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1946, the son of Forrest Spencer and Patricia (Robinson). Robert proudly served his country as a Private in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Robert was widely known for his passion and enthusiasm as an umpire, a role he cherished for over 30 years. His dedication and unique spirit earned him recognition in the Cooperstown Hall of fame in New/York for boys little league Hall of Fame in Michigan for girls fast pitch softball, bringing joy and entertainment to countless people over the years. Robert was also a Moose Lodge member for over 50 years. On November 16, 2013, he married the love of his life, Christine (Clark), and they shared 13 wonderful years together. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Christine; his three sons, John (Michelle) Maccombs, Nick (Amy) Maccombs, and Kenneth (Mary) Maccombs; his sister, Jan (Steve) Zarse. He also leaves behind Granddaughters, Chrysti, Jessica, Gracie, Alexandra, Faithe, Amber, Nikki, Kristen (Johnny) Maccombs, Sheri Lynn (Al) Maccombs; Grandsons, David (Katrina) Seibert, Brennan, Johnny, Brandon, Jonathon, Christopher, Andrew; Great grandsons, Novah, John Ryan, Ben, James, Isaac, Logan, Cassius, Axel, Wyat, Zander; Great granddaughters, Alice, Gabby, Novah, Hadley nephews, Ryan (Stephanie) Halichek; Nieces, Billy (Kristina) Duty; nieces, Amy (Matt) Brown, Tracey (Matt) Gregory; Great Nieces, Norah and Spencer; great nephews, Alexander, Conner, Cameron great nieces, Katelyn, Norah, Spencer, Lauren along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Spencer (Annabelle) and Patricia (Vern) Johnson; his sister, Becky Halicek; and his brothers, Mark Spencer and Harold Spencer. Robert will be remembered as a warm-hearted man who truly loved people and brought smiles wherever he went. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Military honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
