Teresa L. Tangney

Teresa Tangney sadly passed away at the age of 61 on January 28, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded by her brother Jamie who passed on the exact day 20 years ago. Teresa battled breast cancer with bravery and strength. Teresa was born in Ann Arbor, MI on July 11, 1962. She lived in Holly, MI for the past 28 years but went to Walled Lake Western High School. She is the daughter of Lois Chowning and Frank Tangney. She is survived by her siblings Cathy(Rick), Cheryl, and Michael(Kristin). Also survived by her children Ryan, Shaun(Bryana), and Mariah(Kyle). Her grandchildren Kylah, Ryker, Edwin, Lilah, Madisyn, Idalisse, Cecelia, Aaliyah, and Wyatt. Teresa was a devoted and loving mother, aunt, sister, grandma, and partner to Mike Humphrey. Teresa's selfless nature and appreciation for the simple things in life endeared her to all who knew her. Indulging in a piece of chocolate brought her simple joy and contentment. Her unwavering dedication to her family, her sense of humor, and her quick-witted personality will forever be cherished. Teresa embraced her role as a mother. Her children were the center of her world, and she poured her heart and soul into nurturing and supporting them. Teresa's love knew no bounds, and her children were truly blessed to have her as their guiding light and true best friend. Teresa was a sister and a pillar of strength and love. Her siblings will forever hold dear the memories of laughter and love shared with her. Teresa's role as a grandma brought her immeasurable joy. She adored her grandchildren and seized every opportunity to shower them with love and affection. Every phone call and visit with her grandchildren created a nurturing bond that will forever be cherished and remembered. Known for her honest and trustworthy nature, Teresa was a beacon of reliability. People sought her advice and trusted her wholeheartedly. Her empathy and understanding made her the person others turned to in times of need. Teresa's ability to connect with others was evident in her love for spending time with family and talking on the phone as she cherished those moments of connection and laughter. Teresa's legacy is one of selflessness, dedication, and love. She exemplified patience, kindness, and unwavering support. Her love for her family was unmatched, and her pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds. Teresa’s heart was of pure gold. She lived a modest life and valued love and compassion over anything else. Teresa's memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of her children, siblings, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. We find comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on through the love she shared and the memories she created. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may her legacy of love and selflessness continue to inspire us all. A private family memorial will be held for Teresa on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2pm.
